Liberty announces a new collection of scarves, inspired by its rich design heritage

Liberty has launched its latest collection of seasonal scarves, The Print Pioneers, celebrating the iconic Liberty scarf as the brand’s timeless, hero accessory.
Building the collection around five worlds of Liberty design history, the new collection pays homage to the classic florals, arts and crafts motifs, Eastern influences, abstract adaptations and true icons that have come to define its heritage brand identity.
Offering a modern twist on beloved classics, the collection is brought to life across a range of elevated canvases, presenting a symphony of 66 beautiful hand-drawn scarves across 33 print designs and 10 fabrications.
Launching in traditional Liberty silk qualities including silk molare, silk twill, and silk jacquard, alongside designs skewed towards the summer months in new shapes, sizes, and blends featured across cotton, lightweight wools, and cashmere and modal.
“Scarves this season are curated by the Liberty textile artists who work in tandem with archive experts to develop the key narratives behind the collection. The artwork is explored alongside consideration of the textile that will become their canvas; how will the woven nature of the fabric suit the flow of a design? Exploring how an art nouveau inspiration will fit a sophisticated double printed silk twill, while an abstract typographic artwork has an interesting layering effect on a light cashmere blend. ICONS
The Icons collection captures timeless classics, reinventing heritage Liberty prints for every era and season.
Highlights include Hera, meticulously crafted from an ultra-soft modal and silk blend, the design boasts a finely detailed tapestry of floating peacock feathers, providing endless potential for styling - from an elegant hair accessory to an artful handbag addition.
Originally inspired by a wallpaper design from 1902, the Ianthe wool-cashmere blend scarf is a timeless staple, designed to stand the test of time and transform any outfit with its pop of colour and print.
CLASSIC FLORALS
Classic Florals features Liberty’s most instantly recognisable ditsy florals, that celebrate the delights of a traditional English garden, adding statement to every season.
Carline Bloom showcases a striking bouquet of large-scale roses inspired by vintage 1950s floral designs; while the Leopard design follows a more tropical narrative, showing a leopard peering out behind dense tropical flowers. Each design includes a complimentary border finish, crafted from an ultra-soft silk with hand-rolled hems.
A reinvention of the bold Aneome print, the Aneome scarf spotlights stylised flower heads which bloom in unison, presenting a mesmerising medley of flowers.
EASTERN
Inspired by the global expeditions of Liberty’s founder, Arthur Lasenby Liberty, to Japan, China, Persia, and India throughout the 1880s-1910s, designs under the Eastern pillar draw upon rich and decorative motifs.
Adelphi Voyage plays on an interior fabric from the Botanical Atlas collection, boasting an exotic paisley depicting a rainforest of tropical palms, feathery leaves, and fern fronds.
Crafted from an ultra-soft silk with hand-rolled hems, Dina’s Paradise highlights a tropical paradise, unfurling across an enchanting landscape of sea vistas and lush vegetation, embellished with lazy borders. Designed to stand the test of time, this versatile accessory will be part of your collection for years to come.
ARTS & CRAFTS
Dedicated to the great artisans and creatives of the mid-19th century, Arts & Crafts designs pay tribute to the iconic work of heritage visionaries.
Originally designed by William Morris in 1884, Lodden pays homage to the long-standing relationship between Liberty and the heritage designer.
The Rose Branch scarf, launched as part of the William Morris Gallery x Liberty collection, draws its inspiration from May Morris’s exquisite embroideries and sketches from the William Morris Gallery Archive. A contemporary take on a traditional Arts & Crafts style, the print features an array of blooming flowers and spring blossom, intertwined with trailing foliage and a variety of orchard fruits.
A reworking of the classic Laura’s Reverie print, showcasing an ornate botanical of flowing petals, flower heads, and scrolling foliage, the Reverie scarf is formed from an ultra-soft modal and cashmere blend.
ABSTRACT
Inspired by Liberty collaborations with renowned Italian designer, Federico Forquet, and graphics studio, Pentagram, the Abstract collection references colourful geometrics and bold typography.
A vibrant scarf crafted from soft, pure wool - FuturLiberty spotlights an abstract design inspired by Futurist paintings. Created by layering paint onto paper to form bold shapes, the scarf is reminiscent of a freshly painted artist's canvas.
Designed in collaboration with Pentagram design studio, Liberty Letters plays on a bold collision of different design principles, creating a playful rhythm between graphics and textiles. Sophisticated and fun, this vibrant scarf is crafted from luxurious silk and printed in a chic geometric check, applied by stacking individual letter blocks to form the word ‘Yes’.
The Alphabet collection offers the ideal way to elevate an outfit with a personal touch, featuring ornate botanical letters in true Art Nouveau style.
